Dubai: An Indian worker was crushed to death when a heavy steel sheet fell on him at a construction site mishap in Bahrain.

U. Sajeevan, 33, was killed instantly when the steel sheet, which was being lifted by a pulley, fell on him at the construction site in Hidd on the island of Muharraq Thursday, according to local media reports.

Authorities rushed to the spot on receiving news of the incident and have launched a probe.

Sajeevan was employed as a steel fabricator by an Indonesian company, which had the project contract from Gulf Industrial Investment Company (GIIC).

His brother also reportedly works in the same company

Sajeevan has been living in Bahrain for the last six years and leaves behind his wife at his home in Vadakara, Kerala.
