Five arrested for duping diamond trader

Mumbai:The Dahisar police arrested five people, who allegedly duped a diamond trader of diamonds worth Rs3.04crores, on Wednesday.

According to the police, Nattulal Gadche and Dilip Sanghvi, agents of diamond merchant Bhupad Desai, took the diamonds from him five months ago to sell it. The two then sold the diamonds at a much lower price and pocketed the money. When Desai learnt about the incident, he rushed to the Borivali court. On September 1,the court directed the police to register a complaint.

After preliminary enquiries, the police arrested the agents and three others, to whom the booty was sold to. They were produced in Borivali metropolitan court, which remanded them to police custody till September 30.
