New Delhi: Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray is likely to be summoned after Diwali next month by the Lok Sabha Privileges Committee in the wake of his intemperate utterances against Members of Parliament.

While the Committee headed by senior Congress MP V Kishore Chandra Deo has already taken a decision to call the Sena supremo, Committee sources said that the summons could go after Diwali.

The Committee last month got recorded evidence of some members including D P Yadav who had raised a breach of privilege against the Shiv Sena chief. In an editorial in the party mouthpiece Saamna , Thackeray, who is Editor in Chief of the daily, had attacked MPs from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for what he termed was launching an anti Marathi tirade in Parliament.

The issue of breach of privilege against Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, who is Executive Editor of Saamna, in the matter has already been referred to the Committee.

Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari had last month referred the breach of privilege issue against Raut, a Rajya Sabha MP, to the Committee for examination following a reference from Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee.

Devendra Prasad Yadav and Ram Kripal Yadav and others in the Lok Sabha have also complained against the Sena leaders for criticising MPs in the editorial in March.
