Shimla: The one day conference of chief ministers of northern states slated to be held here tomorrow has been put off in the wake of yesterday s bomb blast in Delhi that claimed three lives, official sources said today. We received a communication from Union Home Ministry for postponement of the conference in the wake of the blast in Mehrauli flower market in south Delhi, Secretary General Administration Department Diljeet Singh Dogra told PTI. Future date of the conference to be chaired by Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil will be decided later, he added. Patil was scheduled to chair the meeting of CMs and other high level officials of northern states and Union territory of Chandigarh in Shimla on September 29 to discuss pending issues between the states and also sharing of information on terrorism. CMs of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttaranchal besides Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and Lt governor of Chandigarh were scheduled to participate in the crucial meet. The conference was considered important in the backdrop of rise in incidents of terror attacks in northern states. Source : PTI
