Jamshedpur:Sale of platform tickets in several important stations of the country has been stopped in view of the recent terrorist attacks, Chairman of the Railway Board K C Jena said today. During his brief stop over at Tatanagar railway station here, Jena said the decision in this regard was taken to check unnecessary rush in the platforms. Besides, Indian railways had also taken several measures to tighten the security to face any eventuality arising out of the recent terror attacks, Jena said.
The Railway Board Chairman said while close circuit TV (CCTV) cameras and modern gazettes were being set up at various stations across the country, a strict vigil was being kept at the entry points of the platforms. Jena said the railways has plan to invest Rs 75,000 crores in next five years to emphasis on infrastructure development in the country.
