325 kg explosives recovered in a raid
Monday, September 29, 2008 15:26 [IST]
Rewa (MP): A huge quantity of explosives was recovered in a police raid at a village nearly 70 kms away from here, police said.

Police raided the house of one Gulab Singh at village Chokhda yesterday following a tip off and recovered 325 kg of ammonium nitrate packed in seven bags, they added.

While six bags were neatly stitched, the last one was found opened carrying about 25 kg of explosive material. However, Singh managed to escape from the village taking advantage of the darkness when police raided his house.

Police said that Singh has no major criminal record and only one case of manhandling was registered against him. Police suspect the involvement of some more persons in the matter.
