Chennai: Veteran photo journalist K Narayanachari passed away after a brief illness in the early hours of the day at a hospital, family sources said.

Narayanachari (85) is survived by wife, two sons, including N Sreedhar, Chief Photographer of the Hindu, and four daughters.

Narayanachari, who retired as Chief Photographer from the Hindu, had covered many important political and sports events.

His photographs on cricket matches had won him wide acclaim.
