Advani to address political rally in Uttar Pradesh
Friday, October 03, 2008 14:45 [IST]

Lucknow: The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) prime ministerial candidate L.K. Advani will be in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district Sunday to address a rally against the central government's policy on terrorism.

"In the backdrop of the recent terror attacks in various parts of the country, the rally will primarily focus on the UPA government's failure to deal with terrorism," State BJP president Ramapati Ram Tripathi told IANS.

"Our party is the only political outfit in the country that has the willpower to combat terrorism," Tripathi said.

Tripathi claimed that over 100,000 people were expected at the rally that will start around 2 p.m. "Along with Advani, other leaders, including Arun Jaitley will address the rally," Tripathi added.

The Bareilly rally is a part of BJP's ongoing 'Vijay Sankalp' (victory affirmation) rallies. Advani had launched the 'Vijay Sankalp' in Kanpur in July.
