Erode: Nine people were killed and over 27 injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a lorry in Tamil Nadu Monday, the police said.
The mishap took place on the highway near here, 450 km south of state capital Chennai.
While drivers of the two vehicles - Balakrishnan and Tamilvanan - besides three passengers died on the spot, others died on the way to the hospital, official sources added.
The bodied of the deceased have been handed over to their relatives after post-mortem examinations, a government press statement said.
