Nagpur: Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said he will meet top-level officials in Delhi on October 13 to discuss the modalities of signing a agreement with Russian military aircraft giant Sukhoi.
"I am visiting Delhi on October 13 to meet the high-level officials of concerned agencies to finalise the modalities, but am not sure who they (officials) are," Deshmukh told reporters in an informal chat here today.
Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Vilas Muttemwar had earlier indicated that Sukhoi was all set to enter Nagpur with an investment to the tune of two billion euro for making 70 to 90 seater civilian aircrafts.
If the project gets underway, this would be the only civilian aircraft manufacturing project in the country, he had said.
On his invitation to Tata Group Chairman, Ratan Tata for shifting his small car Nano project to Maharashtra, Deshmukh said Tata officials had discussed the issue with him in the morning.
"They want 1,000 acres near a city and we have already offered them to set up their plant in backward regions like Vidarbha and Marathwada," Deshmukh said.
Tatas are already in touch with other states and nothing can be said at this juncture, he added. Source : PTI
