MUZAFFARNAGAR: A court in Bijnore has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering a missionary in this district last year.

Additional District Sessions Judge Shiv Sharma sentenced Guddu, a watchman, to life for murdering Permila (20), of the St Marys Church on November 5 last year.

Permila was working as a teacher at the Missionary School in Bhikkhawala village in Muzaffarnagar district.

The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on him.

Police had recovered the body from the church compound and arrested the watchman in this connection.
