Tuesday, October 07, 2008 21:02 [IST]

Lucknow: A team of experts, including a professor from the Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi (IIT), Tuesday started a probe into the Sep 30 collapse of an under-construction flyover in which seven people were killed and several injured last week.

"As we need to study every aspect scientifically, we have sought 21 days' time to file our report on how the 30-metre-long portion of the flyover collapsed," said A.K. Nagpal, head of IIT's civil engineering department.

A separate inquiry into the incident is also being conducted by another team involving experts from IIT Kanpur, officials said.
