Dhule: Shoot-at-sight orders were issued in north Maharashtra s Dhule town as the situation remained tense here with curfew being imposed for third day today.
The incidents of stone pelting and arson were also reported, police said. Three persons were arrested in connection with the recovery of lethal weapons including swords, acid and petrol bombs from a house in Magalai locality during combing operation, they said.
A Scorpio van carrying arms was also seized in Devpur lane number seven. Three houses were set afire in Sakri tehsil of the district and a mob damaged the motorcycle of a police constable at Avdhane village, they said.
Civil Surgeon of Dhule civil hospital, T K Khot, said among 149 people injured, 15, two of whom were critical, were undergoing treatment.
The curfew, which continued for third day today, has paralysed normal life in the town while badly affecting all commercial establishments including transportation system.
Trouble started here on Sunday when some people, belonging a particular community, allegedly tore banners of Hindu Rakshan Samiti appealing to people to attend a public meeting in Dhule's Ram Mandir Chowk.
