Greater Noida: A 22-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide at her house in this industrial area adjacent to the national capital, the police said Tuesday.

Neetu Singh, a second year B.Com. student in a Greater Noida college, was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her home in NTPC Dadri in the morning.

According to the police, Neetu's parents fixed her marriage but it was called off recently over some issue, which probably led her to end her life.

Neetu, the police said, was under depression and on Monday night she hanged herself from the ceiling fan with her dupatta, a long head scarf.

The body was found by her parents in the morning and the police were informed.

Neetu's father is National Thermal Power Corporation employee at Dadri.

"We are investigating the matter as to who abetted in her suicide," a police officer at Jarcha station said.
