Concern over Dalai's health
Wednesday, October 08, 2008 10:56 [IST]
CHANDIGARH: Tibetans are concerned about spiritual leader Dalai Lama's health. Just days after leaving hospital, the Nobel laureate was in Delhi for another detailed check-up on Tuesday.

Doctors had recently advised him to cut down on travel. His engagements for September were cancelled. But he is now stressed out after giving exhaustive sessions in Dharamsala last week.

He will skip the Europe Tibet Congress in Basel, Switzerland next week. Instead, Samdhong Rinpoche, prime minister of the Tibetan government-in-exile, will deliver the keynote address.

His spokesperson said that the two-week retreat that the Dalai Lama normally observes once a year, would henceforth take place three times a year. He would thus not be in touch with the outside world for one and a half months in a year.
