Moga: A local court of Addional Sessions Judge Amarjot Bhatti on tuesday convicted and sentenced one Jeet Singh to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25,000 on the charge of stabing to death Malook Singh of Kotisekhan village of the district.

In the failure to pay the fine, the accused witll further under 2 year rigorous imprisonment.

According to the prosecution, Swaran Singh, brother of the deceased reported to the police that the deceased (brother) Malook Singh went to the house of the accused Jeet Singh to get some intoxicants as the deceased was drug addictor on the night of November 9, 2005.

There was some dispute between the accused and deceased as a result the accused attacked Malook Singh with sharp edged weapon who died on the spot.

Wife of the deceased Malook Singh who also rushed to the house of the accused was also inflicted injuries by the accused.
