Jalpaiguri:  A tusker trampled to death one youth who was returning home after pandal-hopping here yesterday.

The incident occurred yesterday when some youths were crossing Nimti forest while returning home at Bhutanbasti near Bhutan border after visiting some puja pandals, the police said.

An elephant suddenly appeared and trampled to death one youth, the police said.

The others were saved as they managed to escape.
