Road accident claims ten lives

Etah: Ten people were killed when a car collided with a speeding Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSTRC) bus, police said here today.


The accident occurred on Agra-Bareilly road last night they said, adding all the occupants of the car died on the spot. The deceased were coming from Bareilly after attending a marriage function.

The car was severely damaged and the dead bodies could be taken out only after cutting it. The bodies have been sent for post mortem, they said, adding the driver of the bus managed to escape.

The administration has announced a compensation of Rs 50,000 per deceased.
