Tripura tribal party demands CBI probe into blasts
Saturday, October 11, 2008 15:34 [IST]
Agartala: The Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT), an opposition tribal party in the state, today demanded CBI inquiry into the serial blasts on October 1 that rocked Agartala leaving about 100 wounded.

"Even as eleven days have passed, the state Crime Investigation Department (CID) has not been able to find any clue to the blasts. We demand CBI inquiry since the CID seems to be groping in the dark," INPT General Secretary, Rabindra Debbarma said.

The truth should come out because people want to know how the blasts could take place in the state, he told reporters.

Debbarma demanded complete fencing and sealing of 856-KM border with Bangladesh so that no one could sneak into the Indian territory illegaly,

He said infiltration has caused lot of problems in Tripura.

He said, the names of 135,000 people were deleted from the voter s list in the last elections and the state s demography would be affected if the infiltration continues.
