Senior Communist leader Ram Ratnakar passes away

Ahmednagar: Senior Communist leader and the messiah of beedi workers Comrade Ram Ratnakar died of old age today morning in Mumbai. He was 78.
As Secretory of All India Beedi Workers Federation, he fought for the welfare of beedi workers till he breathed his last. He was jailed many times while fighting for the cause of workers.

During his lost days, he was shifted to his son s home in Mumbai. He is survived by his son, who is in America, and two daughters, both married and staying in Mumbai.

His funeral took place at Ahmednagar today. Many dignitaries were present at the funeral.

The Guardian Minister Dilip Valse Patil, Balasaheb Vhikhepatil, the MP, Sandeep Rotkar, the Mayor paid their tributes to the departed soul. Large number of people including beedi workers attended his funeral.
