Roadside bomb kills five civilians in Afghanistan

Kabul: Five civilians were killed Sunday in a roadside bomb explosion in Afghanistan s southern province of Zabul, an official said. The incident took place at 6 a.m. In Sinkay district when a roadside bomb struck a car and two tractors, killing five people on the spot, Ghulab Shah Alikhil, deputy provincial governor, said. Three people in the car and two on the tractors were killed,� he said. Taliban militants have been carrying out such attacks against coalition forces in the recent past, Alikhil said. Over 4,500 people have been killed so far in the insurgency related violence in Afghanistan this year.
