New Delhi: Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi was admitted to AIIMS following a severe heart problem early this morning.

Dasmunsi was admitted to cardiology department at around 2.30 am.

Doctors looking after him said his condition is serious and he has been put on ventilator.

"He had a complete left ventricular failure of the heart when he was admitted," said AIIMS spokesperson Y K Gupta.

62-year-old Dasmunsi was admitted to hospital with severe breathlessness and lung congestion, doctors said.

He was first taken to the casualty wing and after his condition stabilised, he was admitted to Coronary Care Unit (CCU).

"His vital organs are stable but his condition is serious," the doctors said.
