Jamshedpur: Driven by depression over her love affair, a 20-year-old girl allegedly jumped from an overbridge into Subarnarekha river here last night.

Police sources said though two passers-by immediately brought out Ritu Mishra, a resident of Adityapur in adjoining Saraikela-Kharswan district from the river, she was declared brought dead at M G M Hospital.

A suicidal note, recovered from her handbag lying on the bridge regretted that her family members were facing problem because of her, sources said.

Ritu was working in a life insurance company in Bistupur and reached the Mango overbridge after attending a meeting in the office last afternoon.

According to eyewitnesses, Ritu was talking over her mobile phone before suddenly jumping into the river.
