Raipur: Seventeen people, arrested on charges of arson and violence, have been remanded in judicial custody, police said here today.

The 17 people were arrested for violence that took place last week after a youth died during idol immersion, following which locals torched about a dozen buses in Simga town, around 60 kms from here, police said.

Although, police force is still deployed in the area, but situation is normal and under control, they said.
