Mumbai: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary Gopinath Munde on Monday said that the Bajrang Dal is not involved in any of the blasts in the state.
"No Hindu organisation has links with terrorism. There is no evidence that can prove Bajrang Dal is involved in bomb blasts," Munde said. The statement comes in the wake of the demand to ban the rightist organisation for its suspected involvement in a few bomb blasts.
Training guns on home minister RR Patil, Munde said, "Now, it is clear that Maharashtra has become a shelter for Simi activists. But our home department is not aware of it. The government cannot protect peoples life, wealth and dignity. The law and order situation is deteriorating. Police also feel that the government does not back them."
He demanded immediate suspension of the collector and police superintendent of Dhule. "When Dhule was burning in communal riots, the collector and the DSP did not use the police force to restore peace in the city. Their behaviour was irresponsible. The riot victims should be rehabilitated as soon as possible without taking into consideration their religion," he said.
