Princess Diana was distant cousin of Palin
Tuesday, October 14, 2008 13:55 [IST]

London: Princess Diana was a distant cousin of US Republican vice- presidential candidate Sarah Palin, according to a British media report.

Palin, governor of Alaska, and Diana, who died in a car crash in Paris in August 1997, are 10th cousins, the Press Association said.

Both are descended from 17th century ancestors John Strong and his wife Abigail Ford, according to the report.

Strong was born in England in 1605 but later emigrated to America with his spouse.
