Gangster celebrates birthday in court complex

Lucknow: India's most wanted mafia don Dawood Ibrahim's former associate Babloo Srivastava, who was awarded life imprisonment Sep 30 for the murder of a customs official, Tuesday celebrated his birthday in the court complex here, with his supporters distributing sweets and flowers.

After Babloo reached the civil court premises here Tuesday to appear in a case, his supporters distributed sweets and flowers.

Presently lodged in Bareilly central jail, Babloo was awarded life imprisonment Sep 30 by a special Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) court in Kanpur in connection with the murder of a customs official.

Babloo told reporters he hopes to come out of the jail soon and may act in a film 'Adhura Khwab' that is based on his life.

The producer of the film, Shabnam Praveen, was also present.

Babloo contested in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections from Sitapur constituency on the nomination of the Apna Dal, but lost.
