Rampur: Two youths were arrested for allegedly killing a class XI student, police said.

Krishna Kumar, a student of class XI at Vidya Mandir School, was abducted and then murdered by his friends Ravi Shankar alias Monu and Anil, they said.

The assailants, who are below twenty years of age, kidnapped Krishna for a ransom of Rs 10 lakh. But, they murdered him without attaining a response from his parents, police added.

The accused stuffed the body into a plastic drum inside a shop in Bilaspur, 40 kms from here, Monday night. But police laid a trap and nabbed the culprits on Tuesday, who later confessed their crime and led police to the spot from where the body was recovered.

Monu invited Krishna at his shop where he gave him sleeping pills mixed in liquor. After Krishna went unconscious, the assailants tied a plastic rope around Krishna s neck and dragged him till he breathed his last, police revealed.

Both the accused have been booked under various sections of the IPC, they said.
