12 labourers dragged out from train
Monday, October 20, 2008 14:35 [IST]
Sonepat: A group of armed persons dragged out 12 labourers, hailing from Bihar, from a train and tried to forcibly take them away, official sources said.

The armed persons, who were at the Sonepat railway station, yesterday surrounded a bogie of the Amritsar-bound Barauni Express in which several labourers from Bihar were travelling to Panipat for work.

Armed men forcibly dragged as many as 12 labourers from the bogie and tried to bundle them in a tractor-trolley parked near the platform.

The labourers, however, resisted their attempt and scuffled with them.

On being informed about the incident, RPF officials swung into action but the armed men escaped from the scene, leaving the labourers on the platform.

Later the labourers were sent to Panipat by another train.

No case has been registered against the group of armed men, sources said.
