Kokrajhar:Several shops were gutted in a devastating fire in a market place in the heart of Assam s Kokrajhar town today, official sources said here.

The fire gutted more than ten shops and some persons received burn injuries in their bid to douse the flames.

The fire was brought under control after four hours with the help of three fire engines.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damages was yet to be ascertained, sources added.
