Washington: Top shots in political arena, who have a sound family with no hitches, no strings attached can smoothly sail past the media glare but only in a bizarre world! The race to the White House is no exception.
After being repeatedly hammered over the legitimacy of their dark-skinned daughter, Cindy McCain, wife of Republican nominee John McCain has come out to the fore, telling their side of the story to the media.
Cindy explained that Bridget McCain was adopted from one of Mother Teresa s orphanages in Bangladesh in the year 1991 and said that she did not even share the news with her husband until she got back to Arizona.
"At that time I was working in Bangladesh with my medical team ... In Mother Teresa s orphanage. I stumbled upon two little babies. One of them had a severe cleft palate and the other had a heart condition," Cindy said on Fox News.
She insisted that nuns under Mother Teresa persuaded her that she could get these children out of misery and suffering.
"And Mother Teresa is there. Her nuns are very persuasive. They said, you know, you can get them out and I was able to get them out and really literally on board the aircraft home, I realized... She had picked me, I couldn t give her up. But I didn t have time to call my husband and tell him," she said.
"I stepped off the plane in Phoenix and introduced him to his new daughter. That is the true story" Cindy said, adding, "And she s now 17 and doing wonderful".
