Beijing: A law professor at a Beijing university was allegedly stabbed to death by a student, the official media reported today, the third such incident in China this month.
Professor Cheng Chunming was attacked by a 22-year-old student last night at the China University of Political Science and Law, Xinhua news agency reported.
The student, who was only identified by his surname Fu, burst into a classroom with a kitchen knife when Cheng was about to give a lecture to students and stabbed him twice in the neck, Xinhua said, quoting the Beijing Youth Daily.
Fu was detained by police after he surrendered.
An anonymous message appeared on the school s bulletin board system intranet Tuesday night, saying the suspect was a forth-year student in the university s School of Politics and Management.
A 16-year-old boy allegedly stabbed his teacher to death in the north Shanxi province earlier this month and another student appartently strangled his teacher to death in the eastern province of Zhejiang, media reports said. Source : PTI
