Blogs in cyberspace supporting, criticising MNS
Friday, October 31, 2008 09:12 [IST]

New Delhi: The tirade against north Indians by MNS chief Raj Thackarey has reached the virtual world with the firebrand leader s supporters praising him as a "nationalist" for his stand and opponents calling him a "psychopath" in a war of words in cyberspace.

Several communities and blogs have come up on the cyberspace both supporting and criticising Raj Thackarey s remarks and attacks on the north Indians.

Tension has been building up for nearly two weeks in Bihar and Maharashtra since Thackeray s supporters attacked north Indian students who had travelled to Mumbai to appear in railways examination.

"Mumbai is not a jageer (property) of Raj Thackeray or any Maharasthrian, every Indian has equal right on that city," a statement on an Orkut community, which has 500 members, says.

Describing the MNS leader as a "psychopath", it says, "he is trying to divide the country into linguistic and regional compartments."

But at the same time, the community suggests Raj Thackeray to "solve these (jobs and others) problems rather than fighting with people of your own country."

Stating that Indians have equal rights everywhere in the country, another community says, "we are not against Marathis, but we are against Raj Thackeray and his supporters for their anti-India politics".

However, the pro-Thackeray communities describe the MNS leader as "Marathi Hriday Samrat" (ruler on Marathis hearts).
