PAF, Turkey take part in bilateral air exercise
Friday, October 31, 2008 13:53 [IST]

Islamabad: Six Pakistani F-16 combat jets have reached Turkey to participate in the bilateral air exercise code named "Anatolian Eagle 2008" with Turkey.

The participation of the Pakistan Air Force pilots in the 15-day air exercise in Turkey will shape up their training and help in strengthening ties between the two countries, said a statement from the Pakistani Air Force.

The PAF has participated in several multi-national air force exercises. These include the "Anatolian Eagle" series of manoeuvres held in 2004 and 2006 and other exercises with the US, Britain, Iran and Turkey.

The current exercise coincides with Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's official visit to Turkey.
