Idol worth over Rs one cr recovered, three held

Lucknow:An idol made of precious metals, worth over Rs 1.2 crore in the international market, was recovered by police in Kheri district and three persons were arrested in this connection.

Vasir, Monis and Ramakant were arrested on a tip-off with the ashtdhatu idol, stolen from Radharaman temple in Sultanpur, Home Department sources said here today.

Besides the idol, two country-made pistols and a number of cartridges were also recovered from their possession.

The idol was stated to be worth over Rs 1.2 crore in the international market.
