Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party today said it would release separate manifestos for different regions of the state, which will go to polls in seven phases from November 17 to December 24.
Releasing the first manifesto of phase one for Poonch district here, JKNPP Chairman Bhim Singh said the regions have separate topography and they are aware of different problems.
"Though there are some common issues applicable to all parts of the state, yet there are separate issues needed to be addressed to different regions and sub-regions having different topography and problems," Singh told reporters here.
In the 15-point manifesto, the JKNPP leader said his party would ensure ST status to Pahari people who form a distinct ethnic tribe since times immemorial irrespective of religion, caste or class.
They were kept outside this category deliberately by the former governments and if JKNPP is voted to power, we will ensure this status to Paharis from Rajouri to Gurez, he said.
Besides, there is a need for giving reservation of seats to Gujjars, Bakerwals and Gaddis in the state assembly according to their population in the state, he said, adding though they have been given ST status but it is irrelevant until they get reservation in the state legislature.
The party also promises comprehensive settlement of all refugees and migrants from Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir by providing them relief and compensation according to the international laws without delay, he said.
