Hyderabad: Principal of a Government Junior College was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau officials while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5000.
Lella Gotham Prasad of Government Junior College, Kotadibba, Eluru, West Godavari district allegedly accepted a bribe of Rs 5000 from M Nirmala Kumari, Principal, Government Junior College, Madhavaram of Tadepalligudem Mandal, West Godavari district for issuing Las Pay Certificate (LPC) and service register of the complainant.
The ACB officials recovered the amount and the principal was arrested. He will be produced before the court of Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases Vijayawada today, an ACB release said.
Meanwhile, in another case Head Constable P Raja Rao of Anandapuram police station attached to Madhurawada Outpost, Bheemili circle, Visakhapatnam district has been dismissed by the state government for having been found guilty of the charges framed against him U/s 13 (2) r/w 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
He was trapped in July 2002 by the ACB while accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 from the complainant. Source : PTI
