Madhepura: At least nine passengers were killed and 12 others injured when a private bus skidded off the road and rolled into a ditch in Bihar's Madhepura district today.

The driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a bend near Tarave canal and the bus plunged into the ditch, about 20 km from the district headquarter, police said.

While nine persons died on the spot, 12 were rushed to the Sadar hospital at Madhepura where condition of some of them was reported critical, sources added.
