Srinagar: All the polling stations being set up for 13 constituencies spread over Anantnag and Baramulla districts of Jammu and Kashmir are hyper-sensitive and sensitive.
All the 743 polling stations being set up for seven constituencies - Baramulla, Pattan, Uri, Sopore, Gulmarg, Sangrama and Rafiabad - in Baramulla district going to polls in the fourth phase on December 7 are hyper-sensitive and sensitive, district election officer Baramulla Baseer Khan said.
He said 445 polling stations falls under sensitive category while 298 are hyper-sensitive .
These stations including 36 auxiliary polling stations are being set up for an electorate of 5,18,964 including 7,689 migrant voters in the district, he said.
Similarly, all the 630 polling stations being set up at six constituencies of Anantnag district are hyper-sensitive and sensitive, district election officer Gazanffar Hussain said.
While 454 polling booths falls in hyper-sensitive status, 176 are sensitive, he said.
He said the six constituencies of Anantnag, Doru, Kokernag, Shangus, Bijbehara and Pahalgam having together an electorate of 4,88,345,will go to polls in the sixth phase on December 17.
Hussain said 73 per cent of the electorate would be provided election photo identity cards before the polls.
For the smooth conduct of polls, he said, 5000 employees have been trained in the operation of EVMs, out of whom about 3000 employees would be deployed for the poll duties. Source : PTI |
