Prohibitory orders in Shillong
Wednesday, November 05, 2008 18:38 [IST]
Shillong: Prohibitory order has been imposed in East Khasi Hills district in view of the two-day office picketting called by the Hynniewtrep National Youth Front from tomorrow.

The HNYF has called the agitation in protest against the " failure" of the state government to implement the education policy despite having collected views and suggestions from stakeholders and the public.

Deputy Commissioner B Dhar said the administration has prohibited any attempt to obstruct government employees from attending their duties.

The DC has also prohibited carrying of arms and lethal weapons and assembly of five or more persons in the entire district.

Meanwhile, HNYF president GH Kharshanlor said the government was yet to give any assurance that the education policy would be in place by the next academic session.
