Tamang has to prove allegations or quit politics
Friday, November 07, 2008 16:31 [IST]
Siliguri: The All India Gorkha League president, Madan Tamang should prove his allegations against Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM) chief Bimal Gurung by evening today or quit politics, GJM General Secretary, Roshon Giri told PTI today.

"A month ago Tamang had alleged that party chief Bimal Gurung had a secret meeting with West Bengal Home Secretary Ashok Mohan Chakravorty in Darjeeling and came to some understanding about the GJM movement," Giri said adding the allegations were "baseless, false and motivated to defame GJM."

GJM had given Tamang a fortnight to prove his allegation before the public or quit politics forever, Giri said.

Giri further said that the time allowed to him would expire this evening.

When contacted, Tamang declined to comment.
