Lucknow: A schoolgirl was gangraped by three youths in an Uttar Pradesh village, the police said Friday.

"A resident of Mehmoodpur village in Sultanpur district, the 14-year old victim on Thursday evening registered the complaint that she was gangraped," police inspector D.R. Verma told IANS by phone.

According to the victim, the three youths of her locality kidnapped her while she was returning from school and raped her at a secluded place, the police said.

A case has been registered against the three youths, who are absconding, Verma said.

The schoolgirl's medical tests have been conducted and the police are waiting for the report.

Sultanpur is some 150 km from here.
