Cancer awareness campaign launched in Himachal

Shimla: On the eve of international cancer day, Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) here launched a month long statewide awareness campaign.

This awareness campaign has been launched by the IGMC in collaboration with the community medicine department, the Principal of the college Dr Surinder Kashyap said today.

He said the campaign would spread awareness among the general public of the causes of this disease and the need for its early detection and cure.

IGMC has also decided to paste posters in the town as the part of awareness campaign, Kashyap said .

Early detection was essential for the proper treatment of cancer, he added.
