Saturday, November 08, 2008 14:23 [IST]
Mumbai: MNS chief Raj Thackeray, who was granted bail by a magistrate s court in neighbouring Kalyan in a case relating to the attacks on north Indians, today presented himself before the Kalyan railway police station in line with the court s direction.

"As per the conditions laid down by the court, he has appeared before the Kalyan railway police station," a party spokesperson said.

Raj was arrested by the Mumbai and Thane Police for the attack by his party cadre on candidates appearing for the Railway recruitment exams on October 19 in both the places.

The MNS leader, who was arrested on October 22 from Ratnagiri, was granted bail in the cases registered at the Kherwadi police station and the Dombivali police station in neighbouring Thane.

The Government Railway Police had also sought Raj s custody for his involvement in a case pertaining to the destruction of railway property by MNS activists, but he had sought anticipatory bail.
