BJP demands statement from Shibu Soren
Saturday, November 08, 2008 18:15 [IST]
Ranchi: The BJP today accused the Shibu Soren government and members of parliament representing Jharkhand of remaining a mute spectator to the "hate campaign" launched by the Maharastra Navnirman Sena against the north Indians.

"The government is silent despite Ramu Das (Khunti), Sakaldev (Dhanbad) and M Rajeswar Rao (Jamesdpur) who had gone to Mumbai for work lost their lives in the violence there. We demand a statement from the state government," former Chief Minister Arjun Munda told a press conference here.

The families of Das, Sakaldev and Rao had approached their respective district administrations, claiming they had been victims of the recent attacks in Mumbai.

Munda, also leader of opposition, said the people of Jharkhand should know what their government was doing on the security of those from the state going in search of jobs to Maharastra.

Alleging that the state government s silence would only encourage the divisive elements, Munda also accused all the fourteen MPs of tacitly supporting the MNS campaign by remaining silent.

Except Jharkhand Vikas Morcha president Babulal Marandi, the rest 13 mps are from JMM (four), Congress (six), RJD (two) and CPI (one).
