ABVP denies involvement in DU vandalism case
Saturday, November 08, 2008 19:16 [IST]
New Delhi: ABVP today denied its involvement in the Delhi University vandalism case where a protester had spat on the face of university lecturer S A R Geelani.

"The person who had spat on Geelani's face is not from ABVP. Even the ones who had vandalised the seminar venue are not from ABVP. They all are outsiders," ABVP leader and DUSU president Nupur Sharma claimed at a press conference here.

Not even one student involved in the case was from Delhi University, she claimed. Students from JNU and Jamia Millia had come to the campus and could have been involved in the case, Sharma alleged.

Criticising the university authorities for allowing Geelani, who has been acquitted in the Parliament attack case, to address a public meeting inside the campus, she called the incident an "administrative lapse".
