Amritsar: A van driver killed and thirteen girls were injured, three of them critically, in a traffic accident in Taran Taran today, police said.

According to Police The accident took place in the Tarn Taran District near the Baba Budha Gurudwara at village Chabbal when a private bus carrying girl students had a head on collision with a truck, police said.

Police said that all the thirteen girls including three in serious condition were admitted in the Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Amritsar.

But the driver of the bus died on the way to hospital, police added.
