Sunday, November 09, 2008 07:38 [IST]

Raipur: Alleging that the Chief Minister is violating the model code of conduct, the Pradesh Congress Committee has complained the matter to the Chhattisgarh chief election officer.

The party has complained to Election Commission office regarding the violation of the model code of conduct by the BJP, Secretary Pradesh Congress Committee Sanjay Pathak said.

Chief Minister Raman Singh has been announcing free salt, free electricity and some bonus schemes and trying to lure the voters, which is a violation of the model code of conduct, he said.

Congress also stated in its complaint that the Chief Minister in his public meetings is using government facilities which is again a violation, Pathak added.
