Prime accused in TDP leader's murder killed
Sunday, November 09, 2008 10:48 [IST]
Hyderabad: Prime accused in the sensational murder of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) legislator Paritala Ravindra was killed in a clash among undertrial prisoners at a jail in Anantapur town today, police said.

J Srinivasa Reddy alias Moddu Seenu died while being treated at a hospital after the clash that took place in the early hours today, police said.

Seenu, who sustained serious head injuries, was hit by dumbles used for doing physical exercises, they said.

Om Prakash, a prisoner allegedly involved in dacoity cases is the prime suspect in Seenu s murder. He escaped from prison after the incident, police said.

The clash is being seen as a fallout of a battle for domination among prisoners.

Seenu's murder assumed political colour with some TDP leaders alleging the involvement of ruling Congress in the incident.

TDP legislator Paritala Ravindra was killed in 2004 and a CBI inquiry is still being conducted into the incident.
