Hyderabad:Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu has demanded that the state government order a judicial inquiry by a sitting judge into the murder of J Srinivas Reddy alias Moddu Seenu inside the Anantapur jail today.
He also demanded that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and home minister K Jana Reddy step down from their posts owning moral responsibility for the murder.
Moddu Seenu is the prime accused in the murder of TDP MLA Paritala Ravindra.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, who was on a tour of Mahbubnagar district, said the government was ready to order a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into Seenu s murder inside the jail.
"The state government is in no way involved in the incident," the Chief Minister asserted.
Naidu told newsmen today that the CBI, which undertook a probe into Paritala Ravindra s murder, had turned down a plea by Seenu to turn an approver in the case.
"Had his plea been allowed, Seenu would not have been murdered," he pointed out.
Naidu ridiculed the government s claim that Seenu was killed following a petty clash inside the Anantapur jail.
"The Y S Rajasekhara Reddy government has become adept at getting people killed and also protecting the accused," he alleged.
Dismissing Naidu s allegations, Rajasekhara Reddy said the government was ready for any probe into the incident. Source : PTI
